Bodie Czeladka and Tom Parker, founders of Exit Forward

What We Do

we don’t buy your business.
we buy into it.

We’re not brokers. We’re not consultants billing hours. We’re equity growth partners who’ve built businesses ourselves, and who only win when you do.
We come in before the pressure forces your hand. Before burnout. Before a broker. When there’s still time to build something worth choosing.

We invest, take a seat at the table, and build it forward together. Whether that’s growing faster, stepping back, or taking some money off the table. The options open up when the foundations are right.

Win-win. Or we walk away.

Our Role

how we
show up.

01

Assess the fit

We get to know each other, understand what success looks like for you, and ensure we’re the right fit. No pressure. Just real alignment.

In practice

We start with founder alignment: how you want to stay involved, what still matters to you, and where the business needs to strengthen before it can grow without everything running through you. If the answers don’t line up, we say so early.

02

Partner & invest

We invest with you, offering liquidity now for what you’ve built, and aligning for the next chapter. Shared skin in the game from day one. A true win-win.

In practice

A structured due diligence process to understand the business as it really is: strengths, constraints, where risk or dependency still sits. Where there’s alignment, we invest and formalise the partnership: capital, governance and direction, aligned around long-term value.

03

Build foundations

We embed structure, systems, and leadership so the business operates without depending on you. What stays on the table becomes more valuable.

In practice

Systems strengthened, leadership deepened, and the platform’s growth infrastructure applied to amplify performance. This is the unglamorous middle where the value is actually created. And it takes as long as it takes.

04

Exit forward

With the foundations right, the options open up. Grow faster, step back, take money off the table, or all three. On your terms. On your timeline.

In practice

Shared stewardship. Liquidity now. A business built to compound beyond its current value, with a founder who chose their next chapter instead of having it forced on them.

How It Actually Runs

the unglamorous part
that makes it work.

01
Values and vision first
Before a single goal gets written we lock down what the business is for and what it won’t compromise on. Everything after this is downstream of that, and skipping it is why most planning doesn’t survive contact with a busy quarter.
02
Five years, three, one
Long range, middle, immediate. Where the business is going, what has to be true along the way, and what this year has to deliver. Written down, agreed, and short enough to remember.
03
Quarterly sprints
The year broken into ninety-day blocks with a handful of things that actually matter in each. Not a list of everything. A decision about what gets done while everything else waits.
04
Monthly at board level
We show up every month and ask how it went. That’s the whole mechanism. Left alone, the work always takes precedence and the structural things, the ones that give you your time back, never get done.

All of it fits on one page, the kind you laminate and put under a keyboard, or in the toolbox. If the plan needs a document nobody opens, it isn’t a plan.

Growth Engine

when the next step
needs momentum

Anyone can write a cheque. Few can accelerate what comes after.
Behind Exit Forward sits Dilate, one of Western Australia’s most established full-service agencies. Brand, marketing, systems and execution rhythm, applied to the business you built.

Marketing is where founders spend the most and understand the least. You won’t be guessing at it. We’ll tell you what the business needs, when it needs it, and what can wait another year.

Then the team goes and does it. see the growth engine

Straight Answers

the questions founders
are too polite to ask.

Do I lose control of my business?
In the formal sense, yes. Better you hear it now than find it in diligence. We take a majority position, because without it the group can’t invest, integrate, or move when something needs moving. In practice it’s narrower than it sounds. The running of the business stays yours. What moves to the board is the big stuff: debt, major spend, buying or selling, changing the shareholding.
So what do I actually keep?
Your board seat and the job of running the business. You stay a director, written into the shareholders agreement, not offered as a courtesy. The day to day stays with you, inside a plan the board has signed off. Straight about the rest: Exit Forward appoints the chair and holds the majority of board votes. That’s how control works and we won’t dress it up. What it buys you is a board that can back a decision with capital, not one that argues for six months.
Are you going to come in and run it?
No, and we’d be bad at it. Owning the majority doesn’t make us the expert on what you do. You are, and we don’t pretend otherwise. We’re the partner on everything around it: structure, capital, marketing, systems, and someone to think out loud with at eleven at night.
How is the business valued?
On real numbers, through real diligence. Because we hold equity alongside you rather than clipping fees, we’re incentivised to get the valuation right, not to inflate it to win a mandate, and not to crunch it to win a deal. Win-win, or we walk away.
How long does this take?
First conversation to partnership is measured in months, not weeks. Alignment comes before paperwork. The build itself runs three to five years, by design. We’re not flipping businesses. We’re compounding them.
What if we don’t get on?
Then we don’t do it. If we’re not comfortable on the relationship side we walk away, every time, regardless of the numbers. Life’s too short to spend five years working with people you don’t gel with, and five years is what this is.
Who is this not for?
Founders who want a clean 100% exit tomorrow at the highest possible price. A broker will serve you better, and we’ll happily say so. And businesses in distress. We partner from strength, before the pressure forces your hand.

Who We Work With

we’re working with
founders who give a shit.

01
The founder at the ceiling
Growing fast early, now plateaued. Knows something needs to change but not sure what. Still hungry, just needs the right partner to punch through.
02
The growth-focused founder
Ambitious, clear on where the business could go, but needs capital and capability to get there. Not looking to exit. Looking to accelerate.
03
The stepping-back founder
Ready to reduce their involvement without a rushed sale. Wants a real transition, one that protects their people, their culture, and what they’ve built.
04
The succession planner
Has a strong 2IC ready to step up. Wants to plan their next chapter over time, not under pressure. Legacy matters more than speed.

Let’s Start a Conversation

fewer.
DEEPER. BETTER.

We work with a small number of founders each year, by design. No pressure. No pitch. Just a real conversation, when you’re ready.
